Hunting for the serious game bird collector
Goose hunting in Scotland is a fairly unknown resource that provides a truly great waterfowling experience. Geese in Scotland are relatively isolated to certain lochs where numbers in the neighborhood of 65,000 pink foots will call home for the duration of the season. Greylags are encountered on a less common basis as the season progresses and are pushed down from northern staging areas. Pink footed geese are a great game bird that decoy well and are equally as great in table fare. Hunters will also have chances to view special species like the Barnacle goose, Bewick's Swan, and Mute Swan although they are protected in the UK.
Seasons:
Hunting for pink footed geese is best during the first half of the season as they are just arriving on their wintering grounds. This is also a great time to combine with other birds such as Red Grouse, Partridge, Wood Pigeon, Ducks.
Normally September - January
